BIOGRAPHY

Shannon Heath (b. 1983, Temora, NSW) is a self-taught Australian artist residing in the Tweed Coast / Bundjalung Nation, NSW Australia.

Creativity was weaved into Shannon’s world from a very young age. Initially, self-expression manifested in the form of dancing, drawing and colouring. Later in life, Shannon’s high school art teacher had a profound impact on her artistic development with sketching and painting.

After deliberating on a degree in art or design, Shannon chose the path of design.

After graduating University with a BA in Design, Shannon went on to pursue a career as a designer in the fashion industry. After a decade designing in Australia and the USA, Heath returned to less-digital methods of creating, and the inner calling of painting.

Shannon’s work reflects her vast tenure as a designer, specializing in textiles, print, and colour, married with an innate ability to compose textural, expressive compositions.

Heath’s signature style employs ethereal, neon-pastel palettes building layers in dramatic, emotive tableaux. She works with methods of layering and extraction primarily with acrylics, oil sticks and non-traditional painting
tools.
